Koo’s teaching and research focus on exploring how the different dimensions of the CEO/senior manager (e.g. job satisfaction, transparency, behavior), the strategic postures (e.g. entrepreneurial orientation, customer orientation), and the parent-spin-off linkage (e.g. dynamic capabilities, family involvement) develop within the domain of entrepreneurship. His work examines dynamic capabilities of spin-offs, R&D competition, and how spin-off firms can benefit by learning from their parent’ failures. His current work explores how firms and organizations adjust their R&D efforts in response to new information and resources.
